The stiffer construction improves lean angle grip, quicker response, also better braking and stability. This will increase lap times. Optimal air pressure range is 13-14 psi.

I've been competitively racing MX and SX for 14 yrs in the NW and I am a very capable C class rider. In the 7 yrs I've used 1 brand religiously (a very well known brand). This set of tires (I run a Hoosier 25 rear) was an immediate benefit to my racing by providing better set up traction coming into the corner, it stays seated where I put it and has incredible grip coming from a loamy rut into a hard-packed takeoff. This set of tires helped my lap times get better by 2 seconds, YES, 2 seconds per lap, immediately. I have no desire to use any other tires than these Hoosiers, they are the best race tires I've ever had on my YZ-250F.
